The Week Ahead

Hello Health students!

I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving Break! But now that it is over, I hope that you are not too tired from all of the tryptophan that you consumed*, and that you are prepared to get working once again.

This week, we will be finishing up The Drug Report by choosing a single drug from a list of many, and reporting on it in the same way we reported on nicotine, alcohol, and methamphetamine. The list will be posted this afternoon, and you should have your choice ready for me to clear at our next meeting.

The worksheet you will fill out will be made available to you on Tuesday, right here on the blog, so make sure that you check back accordingly to get it printed out and completed before it's due date on Thursday.

Once we are finished with The Drug Report, we will begin on the topic of sex, and discuss the psychological/chemical drive fueling the behavior, and mental and physical issues that may arise from engaging in the behavior. Beware, this will be quite graphic, especially when we study sexually transmitted diseases, so if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know ahead of time.

Welcome back!

*Tryptophan is an amino acid that is found in turkey and is suggested to make you feel tired upon its consumption.
