Cafe Nutritional Fact Sheet Project

Hello Health students!

I am very excited, because today begins the Nutritional Fact Sheet Project for our very own cafeteria! We will be providing the entire high school with caloric information of the foods they eat each day, and that is a very great thing.

Here are the details of the project:

- Classes will be divided into groups of four students (you will have control over who is in your group).

- Each group will choose 4 different, unlabeled food items to research for the project, calculating the number of calories in the serving provided by the cafe.

- Each individual within the group will be held responsible for 1 of the items chosen. So, even though this is a group project, there is an individual component as well.

- The calories of the ingredients used for each specific item will be required, so make sure and keep such data handy.

- Once the items are researched, they will be presented in print form, a blueprint of which will be posted on the blog this week.

- Grading will focus on accuracy, presentation, and individual participation.

- The project is due Wednesday, April 8.

Be sure to start gathering your data asap so that you may begin calculating the number of calories in the items that you choose with enough time to check and recheck your results with me BEFORE the due date. And as always, if you have any questions, please let me know!

Good luck!
